International school of young selectionists is opened in Ufa

The international school of young selectionists by Sabirian Kunakbaev started working today at the Bashkir Scientific-Research Institute of agriculture under the Russian Agricultural Academy. More than 50 listeners – young scientists from the Academy’s scientific centers – arrived in Ufa for participation in the forum.

Bashkortostan was chosen the site for transfer of skills from the leading selectionists of the country to young specialists not accidentally. The first sort of winter wheat in the country was bred here, in our region. The rye “CHULPAN”, bred by Sabirian Kunakbaev, is considered one of the most popular and cultivated sorts in Russia. Bashkir scientists have the highest indices in selectionist work in Russia today.

Well-known scientists in sphere of selection, seed farming, genetics, biochemistry and physiology of plants, agricultural microbiology and plant protection of Russia, Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Academy of Sciences of Bashkortostan, Bashkir Scientific-Research Institute of agriculture, Bashkir State Agrarian University, chief specialists of Ministry for agriculture RB and other scientific institutions of the Republic will acquaint young scientists with the latest designs in this sphere. Representatives of Ukraine and Byelorussia are taking part in the school’s work too.

The school will work till March 30.
