More than 230 thousand Russians have celebrated house-warming thanks to program “Social development of villages”

15,6 million square meters of housing have been either erected or purchased for villagers thanks to the federal program “Social development of villages” in Russia. Young couples and young specialists have received 4,4 million square meters.

“Since 2003 232,5 thousand villagers have improved their living conditions, including 74,5 thousand young couples and specialists, thanks to the federal program “Social development of villages” – deputy Minister for agriculture of Russia Alexander Petrikov has stated yesterday at the all-Russian agrarian forum in Ufa. Besides, during development of the program the provision of rural population with drinkable water reaches more than 54% now. In 2002 this index in Russia was equal to 40,7%.
