Rustem Khamitov indicated key aims for bankers in 2012

The leadership of Bashkortostan is waiting for more active participation of local banks in economic life of the region: the share of financial sector in Bashkiria has to be doubled in 2012.

“Our key aim is to raise the level of bank services in the Republic up to the level of the regional leaders” – the President RB Rustem Khamitov stated today during the meeting in the National Bank RB, where the Republican bank community was summing up the totals of its activity in 2011, determining the plans for 2012 – “We have to increase the share of financial sector in the gross regional product from 0,2-0,3% up to the average all-Russian showing at 0,6-0,7% , as minimum, i.e. 2-2,5 times”.

The President has admitted that this aim is difficult but at the same time he is certain the Republic is able to cope with it.

“At present time Republican economics experiences through the after-effects of the crisis and demonstrates positive dynamics in development. The gross regional product is increased by more than 9% and we are demonstrating good results in agriculture. We have nothing to be ashamed of our macroeconomic showings” – Rustem Khamitov stated.

“We are expecting more active participation of our banks in development of the Republican economics, substantial rise of crediting and new investment projects” – the President RB indicated the aims for the current year and called crediting in agriculture, small and medium business, house building and the rise of population’s financial competence the top priority directions in bank activity for today.
