The head of “OBORONPROM” has become acquainted with new specialized workshops at “UMPO”
The general director of “OBORONPROM” Andre Reus, found in Ufa on a work visit, has visited JSC “Ufa Engine Plant” (UMPO) on January 24. He has become acquainted with new workshops, meant for manufacturing of details and joints of the engine PD-14 for the civil aircraft MC-21.
As M-r Reus said, “UMPO” is considered the parent enterprise of propulsion engineering division for the front aviation of Russia and production of details and joints of the engine PD-14 is considered one of the top priority projects in civil aviation.
Andre Reus has become acquainted with work of the new unit, launched in August 2011 – the line of fluorescent penetration control. The joints, manufactured by “UMPO” in accordance with the contract with the Canadian company “Pratt & Whitney” for the engine PW-300, are checked with the help of this technology.
After that the guests have inspected the workshop for production of rotors, turbines and compressors for all types of aviation engines, manufactured by “UMPO”.
After the excursion to the plant Andre Reus has taken part in the gathering of the regional division of the Russian Union of Machine Builders.
