A congress of community committees is opened in Ufa

Citizens of 9,5 tenement-buildings can stand up for their rights before the management companies and purveyors of the resources in Bashkiria now with the help of the community committees. Formation of the public movement “The Union of the community committees RB” is close to the end and the congress of the chairman of the community committees in multiflat houses is opened in Ufa today.

This project was initiated in June, when the amendments to the Housing Code of Russia, offered by the “United Russia” deputies Paul Krasheninnikov and Andre Nazarov were approved. These amendments permit the citizens to form their own community committees along with the traditional forms of control over the multiflat buildings. The chairmen of the community committees are empowered with the definite rights, fixed by the Housing Code of Russia.

“All that helps us to control the sphere of housing and communal services, making a big civil army” - the head of the public movement of community committees Arsen Nurijanov said - “Now citizens may influence upon the quality of housing and communal services self-dependently through the community committees”.

9,5 thousand community committees have been found for two months and in a whole there are 12377 multiflat houses in Bashkortostan. The meetings have been held in every tenement.

The authorities of the community committees are very wide. Chairmen of such committees may sign contracts with management companies, standing up for the interests of citizens of these tenements in courts, they may sign the work completion certificates and approve the budgets and schedules of repair works.

The coordinator of the project from the political party “United Russia” Elena Rodina is sure the community committees represent a great army of helpers in struggle for the improvement of the quality of life and believes that this movement has great potential and great prospects, which can become a reality.

At present time the chairmen of the community committees are working in sections and during the evening's joint gathering they will determine the prospects of their future activity.
