Ufa holds the second place in the contest “The most comfortable urban settlement in Russia”

Yesterday the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin has presented the governmental diplomas to the winners of the contest for the rank of the most comfortable settlement in Russia.

Nizhniy Novgorod. Nizhnekamsk, the urban settlement “Town Builder” in Belgorod region, Tselinskoe rural settlement in Rostov region, the village Sukhaya Buivola in Stavropol region and Preobrajensky rural settlement in Lipetsk region received the diplomas of the first degree.

Novosibirsk and Ufa are rewarded with the diplomas of the second degree.

Saransk, Khabarovsk and Izhevsk are rewarded with the diplomas of the third degree.

“Streets and yards are beautified in your towns and villages, new children and sports grounds are erected, roads, public transport and the sphere of housing and communal services are improved and finally you are making the conditions for making the life of our people more comfortable, better for life and kids rearing” - Vladimir Putin said, congratulating the winners.

For the reference: the all-Russian contest for the rank of the most comfortable rural (urban) settlement in Russia was established by the Russian Government in 2009 and for the first time was held in 2010. The main goal is to raise the activity of municipal authority in development of housing and communal services, to reveal towns and settlements with the best results and to encourage them to start popularizing their positive experience. The municipalities, winning the first three places in the contest, are rewarded with diplomas and monetary prizes. The budget financing for bonuses to the winners amounts to 100 million rubles now. 85 municipalities, divided into six categories by population – from capitals to small rural settlements – have taken part in the last contest.
