NEFAZ launches the line for automatic welding of tanks

Reconstruction of the workshop for production of oil-filling technique is considered one of the most important investment projects, developed by JSC “NEFAZ”. At present time the assembly line for welding of lorry tanks is found in the process of mounting. Two leading German companies - “GRIMM SCHWEISSTECHNIK” and “DEUMA, CLOOS and HEISS” are taking part in the project.

The line consists of two units for automatic welding of internal girth seams and one unit for automatic welding of external girth seams. The welding speed is 0,4 – 0,9 meters per minute and at that stable geometry of the seam, high quality and excellent aesthetic outlook are ensured.

The welding process is controlled by high-precision adaptive laser equipment, able to correct the position of the welding torch comparatively to the joint with the accuracy up to a hundredth part of millimeter. The capacity of a new welding line is 2,5 thousand tanks per year. Similar technologies and equipment are used in production of oil and gas mains but in machine-building such welding line will be used in Russia for the first time.

At present time JSC “NEFAZ” holds about 35% of the Russian market of tank-filling machinery and specialists forecast that after the automatic welding line is put into exploitation, the competitive ability of “NEFAZ” output will go on progressing.
