New “Olympic” coins are put into circulation on September 1

The Central Bank of Russia puts three kinds of memorable coins into circulation on September 1. All coins are made of precious metals and devoted to the XXII Olympic Winter Games and to the XI Paralympic Winter Games-2014 in Sochi.
The silver coin with the face-value at 100 rubles is called “Russian winter”. The participants of the ancient Russian game “Cauldron”, a fisherman during winter fishing and the merry-go-round with sledge can be seen on it. Two golden coins “Bobsleigh” and “Curling” have the face-value at 50 rubles. The four of bobsleigh pilots is pictured on the first one and two curling players – on the second.
The circulation of the silver coins is 1200 pieces and of the golden ones – up to 20 thousand pieces of every kind.
All abovementioned coins are the legal means for cash payments on the whole territory of Russia.
