David Mulligan: “Bashkortostan has excellent investment climate”

“Bashkortostan has excellent investment climate and opening of “IKEA” shop in Ufa is a good example how people and business grow up together. I’m sure “IKEA” will be successful in Ufa” – the deputy director of IKEA retail network in Russia David Mulligan said today at the opening ceremony of a new “IKEA” trade center in the capital of Bashkortostan.

The temporary charge d’affaires of Sweden in Russia Martin Oberg mentioned in his speech of welcome that one more world-brand shop was opened in Bashkortostan.

“IKEA is the most Swedish company” – he said – “We call this shop the “national home” and it deserves such name. Here the Days of Sweden and presentations of our national production are regularly held. I think it will be the same in Ufa”.

It is worth noting that opening of a new trade center, consisting of IKEA, “MEGA” and the hypermarket “Auchan” permits Bashkortostan to open about 3000 new workplaces. The overall volume of IKEA investments to this project amounted to 9 billion rubles. The total territory of IKEA shop in Ufa is about 11 thousand square meters and the number of workplaces reached 242. Two express-buses will transport buyers to the shop.
