The electronic versions of the maps of natural territories to be adopted in Bashkortostan

The employees of Bashkir reserves and national parks begin mastering new technologies of geo-informational systems (GIS-technologies), necessary for monitoring of the natural territories. The first seminar on GIS-technologies has taken place in the national park “Bashkiria”, which the representatives of not just Bashkir natural parks but also from Buryatia, Sverdlovsk region, Tatarstan and Samara region took part in.

“Thanks to the new technologies we can obtain the electronic version, i.e. the full picture of this or that territory. Unlike the ordinary paper maps our electronic maps will contain much more information. The work on the data conversion into the electronic format already started” – the deputy director on scientific and ecological-enlightener activity Lilia Sultangareeva reported to “Bashinform”.
