Rustem Khamitov: “By 2015 the innovational production output in Bashkortostan has to reach 90 billion rubles”

By 2015 the innovational production output in Bashkortostan has to reach 90 billion rubles. The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov stated about it today at the opening ceremony of the Congress of nanotechnologies. The increase will make up 15-20 times as compared with nowadays.

“We have to do it, otherwise we will remain outsiders” – the President RB stated.

Taking the floor before the participants of the international forum the President RB mentioned that Bashkortostan was a powerful and big region of Russian Federation.

“We have well-developed science and powerful enterprises and this congress has great significance for the Republic” – the President of Bashkortostan said – “Because this is the recognition of our achievements in scientific and research activity”.

Rustem Khamitov has mentioned that Bashkortostan is well-known first of all with its petroleum-chemical science. At the same time the representatives of big technical structures make weighty endowment to development of the Republican economics.

“Our Republic is open for the dialogue about investments and innovations” – the President RB believes – “We are ready to take part in the federal projects, offering our domestic designs”.

Nanotechnologies are not just promising scientific direction but the catalyst in development of many branches. For the last several years nanotechnological productions in the Republic dynamically develop. The President RB has underscored that the Republic not just actively takes part in the contests of innovational projects but inculcate these projects in production.

At the same time the President RB thinks that Bashkortostan is found just in the beginning of the way.

“We can’t yet start talking about ourselves as about the innovational Republic” – Rustem Khamitov stated – “Our potential is high but just few projects became a reality. The share of innovational production in the region doesn’t exceed 5% in the overall volume. Less than 300 of several thousand industrial enterprises can be called active from the point of view of innovations. We aren’t satisfied with the fact that the share of innovations in the structure of expenses at our enterprises occupies just a small part. The priority is given to purchases of foreign equipment. The scientific-technical policy isn’t encouraged properly”.

In June Bashkortostan has signed very serious cooperation agreement with JSC “ROSNANO” and now the Republic faces hard work on making all clauses of this agreement a reality. The President RB outlined the main projects, successfully developed in Bashkortostan, as well as the aims on establishment of the Republican nano-center.

“ROSNANO” actively helps Republican enterprises in realization of the projects. Thus, the production of electrochemical lathes was launched in 2010. The financing of the project, promoted by the company “Jasper-Bios”, on production of the cosmetics “Nano-Derm”, based on nanotechnologies, is approved. The Ufa engine plant (UMPO) becomes the center for production of the engines for the Air Force.

At present time JSC “ROSNANO” considers eight Republican projects and the overall volume of financing can reach about 25 billion rubles.

“We have to re-orientate ourselves, adopting foreign experience but first of all making our own unique designs a reality” – Rustem Khamitov mentioned.
