Rustem Khamitov: “We mustn’t sell grain at low price”

On August 20 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has become acquainted with the harvest on the fields of the agricultural company “AZAT” in the course of his working trip to Fedorovsky region RB.
This company, established in 2007, specializes in cultivation of grain and technical crops. The areas of the lands, cultivated by the company, are 6,3 thousand hectares. The company cultivates rye, wheat, barley, sunflower and annual grasses. For today grains are thrashed on more than 800 hectares and the overall milling makes up 1790 tons of grain. The average crop capacity is more than 22 centners from hectare (8,9 centners in 2010).
The public affairs service of the President RB reports Rustem Khamitov was interested how the company solved the problems of thrashed grain storage. As it turned out, the company faces real difficulties with grain sales. Low purchase prices make the sales of new harvest unprofitable for agrarians, so it is more expedient to keep it and wait until the prices go up.
“We mustn’t sell the grain at low price” – Rustem Khamitov said – “We have to think how to make our own reserve fund. We have to decide that local elevators should keep the grain free. We helped our farmings in order not to find their money in the pockets of the second-hand dealers”.
The President RB has also posed the problem to finish the harvest till September 15. At present time 35% of the grain crops are harvested in the Republican regions.
