Andre Reus: “Aluminum and titanium foundry will be concentrated at UMPO”

Aluminum and titanium foundrry for aviation propulsion engineering and helicopter engineering will be concentrated at JSC “Ufa Engine Plant” (UMPO) during five years. The General Director of JSC “OBORONPROM” and JSC “The United Propulsion Engineering Corporation” Andre Reus stated that at the last press-conference, held yesterday within the frames of the aviation-space show “Max-2011”.

According to M-r Reus UMPO already possesses all necessary competences and is considered the most efficient in the abovementioned branches as compared with other enterprises of the branch.

“During five years we will close all other foundries in the country and production both for aviation engines and helicopters will be concentrated in Ufa” – Andre Reus reported.

The press-service of JSC “UMPO” reports the decision concerning organization of the aluminum and titanium foundrry center at the plant was made in spring 2011. The production capacities and modern workshops on the territory of “UMPO” will permit to meet the needs of “OBORONPROM” and “The United Propulsion Engineering Corporation” in aluminum and titanium foundries already by 2016.

It should be noted that the establishment of the centers of technical competences is considered one of the elements in the strategy of “The United Propulsion Engineering Corporation”.
