Rustem Khamitov: “We want to escape from excessive dependency upon oil industry and petroleum chemistry”

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has taken part in presentation of Kaluga region’s potential at the head of the official delegation RB and had a talk to the Kaluga Governor Anatoly Artamonov.
In the course of the presentation Rustem Khamitov mentioned that the economics of Bashkortostan demanded global diversification.
“We want to escape fr om excessive dependency on oil industry and petroleum chemistry, since this dependency results in serious economic risks, so we learn the experience of other regions on attraction of investments and on establishment of big industrial parks. We watched very interesting and efficient practice in Kaluga region”.
“Now the business circles regard Bashkortostan as the region, where one can go freely and wh ere the business climate is quite reliable” – the Governor of Kaluga region mentioned – “The main thing now is not to turn away from the way to further improvement of the investment climate, keeping the reputation of the region on the highest level”.
Anatoly Artamonov told that the history of making the favorable business climate in Kaluga region sprang from establishment of the first industrial park in Obninsk in 1998. In a short time the site, equipped with the engineering infrastructure, turned out to be completely occupied with small enterprises. Such successful experience spurred the leadership of the region on more wide-scaled projects.
Rustem Khamitov was interested did they have various regional tax preferences for the investors in the region. It turned out that the region had certain preferences on profit, transport and land taxes for business on the initial level. The public affairs service of the President RB reports that similar tax preferences were approved in Bashkortostan in 2011.
