Ufa to establish cooperation with Japanese city of Kitakyushu

The delegation of Japan was staying in Ufa during the last week and its staff included representatives of official and business circles of the city of Kitakyushu.

The guests paid a visit to Ufa administration and signed the protocol of intentions for development of economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Ufa and Kitakyushu. This mutual interest can’t be called accidental. Same as Ufa the city of Kitakyushu represents a big industrial and scientific center with the population about one million people. In the 60s last century Kitakyushu was ruefully famous as one of the most polluted cities in the country. But today it is considered one of the leaders in sphere of environment protection in Japan. It is remarkable that the city is ready to share its positive experience in this sphere with foreign partners and the protocol of intentions is the first step to cooperation in this direction between Kitakyushu and Ufa. In the course of the meeting with the representatives of Ufa administration the Japanese party has ventilated several concrete proposals, in particular, on exchanging experience in sphere of waste recycling, probation periods for Ufa specialists and some others.
