“RUSHYDRO” and “ALSTOM” to erect the plant for production of hydro-turbines in Bashkortostan

JSC “RUSHYDRO” and the French company “ALSTOM” intend to erect the plant for production of equipment for minor power engineering in Bashkortostan on the territory of Ufimsky region. This joint project was presented on Wednesday by the deputy Director of JSC “RUSHYDRO” George Rijinashvili during the meeting with the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

It is planned the plant will produce turbines and other equipment for deliveries for Russia as well as for other CIS countries. There will be more than 500 new workplaces, opened at the plant, and its opening will give about 500 million rubles of taxes for the Republican budget till 2020.

As George Rijinashvili reported, at least 100 million euro will be invested in the project – “RUSHYDRO” allocates 51% and the French company – 49%. The production spaces of the plant will make up 22,1 thousand square meters.

“We believe the erection of other two similar plants nearby quite real in the future” – George Rijinashvili said – “Everything depends on the demand, which is determined by the readiness of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia and other neighbors to finance construction of hydroelectric stations on their territories”.

There are no other analogues of such plant in Russia now and as the “ALSTOM” business manager Nikolai Giro said, it will be the newest plant the company had all over the world ever.

“RUSHYDRO” and “ALSTOM” presented the special program for training the future plant’s specialists and both companies intend to spend about 134 million rubles for their training. The future employees will pass probation periods at the similar “ALSTOM” enterprises in France, Brazil, China, India and Switzerland.

Rustem Khamitov said the Republic was deeply interested in successful development of the project.

“We will make comfortable conditions – tax preferences and suitable variants for work organization” – the President RB said.

It is planned the construction of the plant near Ufa will start on April 2012 and the first turn is expected to be over in November 2012. The plant will be able to start real production already in April 2013.
