May 20 is the World Metrology Day

The World Metrology Day is marked on May 20. The decision concerning establishment of this professional holiday was made in 1999 by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures in the memory about signing the International Metric Convent in 1875. For these years the metrology stopped to be just a science. Now it includes all types of activity, related to measurements. In 2011 the Metrology Day is celebrated under the slogan “Chemical measurements in our life and our future”.

The press-service of the Center for standardization, metrology and certification RB reports the specialists in sphere of measurements can be found everywhere – in science and production, in service sphere and agriculture, in nature management, medicine and building branch. The World Metrology Day is the professional holiday for al of them, including the employees of the Center for standardization, metrology and certification RB – the organization, which is engaged in the purposeful work on provision of the unity of all measurements in the Republic since 1902.
