Rustem Khamitov: Bashkortostan will develop along the way of innovations”

“The strategy of economic development, basing on exploitation of natural resources, represents the outgoing epoch” – the President RB Rustem Khamitiv stated at the gathering re development of nanotechnologies and nanoindustry in Ufa.

The President RB said that the future belonged to science-intensive technologies and “our aim is to occupy an adequate niche in this process”.

Rustem Khamitov has underscored that now Russian regions start seriously competing each other on development of innovational economics. In his opinion Bashkortostan can and must become a good partner of “ROSNANO” and has no right to loose this struggle.

“Our Republic is one of the industrially developed centers, having very solid scientific potential. Along with the education institutions there are more than 60 research institutes, where more than seven thousand people work, in Bashkortostan and this is the intellectual power RB” – Rustem Khamitov said.

The President has indicated the branches, where the Republic holds leading positions and has all opportunities for development of innovations. He has told in details about development of nanotechnologies in the region. Thus, the production of ecologically safe electrochemical lathes by the company “ECM” was launched in Bashkortostan in December 2010 with the assistance of “ROSNANO”. The President RB has reported the techno-park will be opened at this plant till the end of this year.

“Bashkortostan seriously figures on successful realization of all our projects in order to start real production. The Republic will develop along the way of innovations. We need a new economic model, impossible without these innovations” – Rustem Khamitov has stated.
