The agreement with the National Milk Producers Union is signed in Bashkiria

The cooperation agreement between the National Milk Producers Union and Republic of Bashkortostan is signed in Ufa on April 3, Sunday, by the President RB Rustem Khamitov and the chairman of the Union Andre Danilenko. The document is of unlimited duration and aimed at development and optimization of the Bashkir milk industry. It is expected the accumulated experience will be spread all over the country in the future.

“Today’ we’ve made rather interesting precedent when the regional government signs cooperation agreement with the National Milk Producers Union” – The President RB said after the signing ceremony – “Our Republic is a progressive agrarian region, which potential is great and this agreement is a big and correct step in development of our Republic and on realization of the doctrine “Food Security of Russian Federation”.

“Signing of this agreement is a historical event for us. For the first time we jointly pose the problem to form a new approach in stimulation of Russian milk industry development and it is done on the base of Republic of Bashkortostan, which is not just the leader of milk production in the country but also has great potential of development from the point of view of geographic, economic and investment conditions. I believe Bashkortostan can become the milk capital of Russia and, possibly, of the Customs Union” – Andre Danilenko has mentioned in his turn.

Andre Danilenko has reported that the pilot model on milk production is under development in Bashkortostan and this project is approved by the Russian Ministry of agriculture and by the Government of Russia. The chairman of the Milk Producers Union believes our Republic has good prospects in milk production, its milk is ecologically clean and natural and, thus, this high-quality product can be competitive and demanded in the Russian market. In his opinion Bashkir milk should be known and estimated beyond the region but for this it is necessary to make a good system of milk sales.

“The trade networks, connected with the Russian Milk Producers Union, are interested in deliveries of high-quality natural milk” – Andre Danilenko reported.

For the reference: in 2010 Bashkiria has produced 2,2 million tons of milk. The Republic holds the first place in Russia on milk production with the share 6,6% and 20,3% in Volga federal district. The main volumes are produced by small milk farms (1,5 million tons of milk per year or 70% of the overall volumes).

Every year Bashkiria produces 606 kg of milk on one citizen RB but only 370kg is consumed. The volumes of the Russian milk market are estimated at 35-40 million tons.
