The epizootic situation on the African pig fever is becoming more and more strained in Russia. One should remind that new pestholes of the African pig fever cropped up in December 2010 in Rostov region, in Krasnodar and Leningrad regions. In January 2011 the fever was registered in Stavropol region, in Saint-Petersburg and some days ago – in Kaliningrad region. Thereupon the Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Dept in Bashkiria holds special actions on control and supervision over all pig farms in the Republic.
At the last gathering of the Agency’s Dept in Bashkiria, held yesterday, it was stated that 148 pig farms of 179 working in Bashkiria corresponded to the enterprises, working in “closed mode”, i.e. 83% of all farms, working in the Republic. At present time 31 pig farms don’t meet the regulations of the “closed mode”.
