The program on trans-Ural economic development for the nearest five years is approved in Bashkiria

The gathering of the Government RB re “The medium-term complex program on trans-Ural economic development in 2013-2015”, held under the chairmanship of the President RB Rustem Khamitov, has taken place on Monday, February 14.

“Bashkir trans-Ural represents a very important theme. The trans-Ural zone covers one third of the whole area RB and one tenth of the Republican population lives on its territory. With all potential opportunities the trans-Ural territory is found in rather depressive condition. Here we face the highest unemployment level, low level of housing and medical provision. The outflow of youth from the zone is going on” – Rustem Khamitov said.

The program is called to save the zone from its economic problems.

The program of trans-Ural zone’s economic development, which includes several Bashkir regions and the town of Sibay, is the first pilot project, worked up and approved by the new staff of the Government RB. And if this project turns to become successful, it will be applied in other Bashkir regions and first of all in the north-east of the Republic. It is expected 95 billion rubles will be allocated for financing of the trans-Ural zone’s development.
