Bashkir arts and crafts search for the ways in the European markets

In autumn 2010 the Arts and Crafts Chamber RB presented the Bashkir national arts and crafts at one of the biggest exhibitions of Europe “Creative Salzburg”. Such exhibitions are held twice a year – in autumn and spring in the Exhibition Center “MESSE ZENTRUM Salzburg” in the town of Salzburg.

The businesswoman from Ufa Larisa Aminova, the master of the salon “Souvenirs and Gifts RB” presented the Arts and Crafts Chamber RB in Salzburg.

“The exhibition was free only for special guests, for business people, engaged in souvenir retail trade” – she told. More than 500 companies from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and other European countries presented their expositions in ten huge exhibition halls and Christmas and New Year were chosen the subject-matter of the autumn exhibition.

The stand of Bashkortostan occupied 15 square meters and as far as possible the Bashkir masters tried to introduce the whole spectrum of Bashkir souvenirs and gifts, including hand-made works of the factory “AGIDEL” – the birch bark works with the effect of stamped leather and various wooden things. But they failed to sign any contracts because taking the transport costs and export duties into account Bashkir souvenirs become uncompetitive.

But the chairman of the Arts and Crafts Chamber RB Alla Ilintseva doesn’t loose hopes to find the markets for sales of Bashkir souvenirs in Europe. Thus, in February a representative of the Chamber will leave for Switzerland for signing the preliminary agreements.

“All our works are hand-made and hand-made is highly estimated all over the world, especially in such countries as Germany, France, Switzerland and the USA” – she said – “Our souvenirs are sold out well in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg and in our search for the ways to Europe we are supported by the state business undertakings and tourism committee RB. We do hope we will be able to take part in the spring exhibition in Salzburg”.
