Bashkiria stands in the list of Russian regions with high quality of forestry management according to WWF rate

Republic of Bashkortostan is included to the list of 27 Russian regions with high quality of forestry management.

The World Wild Fund (WWF) announced the results of the forestry management rate in Russian regions, the press-service of the Ministry of ecology RB reported. The rate, made by WWF with the help of the National Rate Agency represents the first attempt of independent and non-departmental forestry management assessment. The rate estimates the forestry management in Russian regions on the base of 38 showings. Bashkiria is included to the third group of Russian regions, where the forestry coverage varies from 15 to 40%. These regions are characterized by high population density and high level of forestry assimilation.

WWF considers that on the base of the rate’s results the regional authorities will be able to determine the gaps in the concrete spheres of forestry management and timber industry companies may use the rate as one of the mechanisms for evaluation of the investment attractiveness in the regions.
