A pulp and paper mill is planned to be constructed in Bashkiria

A pulp and paper mill with the capacity from 600 thousand to one million ton is planned to erect in Bashkiria – either in Karaidelsky or in Duvansky region.

The deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Uri Pustovgarov has reported about this decision at the meeting in the House of the Government RB, devoted to development of timber industry in the Republic, on December 13.

The timber industry of Bashkiria mainly includes such directions as timber felling, wood-chemical production, woodworking and production of wooden wears, furniture in particular.

According to the statistics 518 organizations are engaged in woodworking and production of wooden goods and 785 – in pulp and paper manufacturing, publishing and polygraph activity.

The circulation of such organizations in sphere of woodworking and production of wooden goods is 1807 million rubles.

The main volumes of timber cutting in the Republic fell on such enterprises as “BASHLESPROM”, “KARAUDELSKY Union of Timber Merchants”, “UFALESPROM” and “DUVANLESTORG”. The summary profits of these enterprises in Bashkiria in 2010 have made up 47 million rubles. At the same time the timber industrial complex of Bashkiria has good potential. Thus, 17 small enterprises in Karaidelsky region RB have united to establish the “KARAIDELSKY Union of Timber Merchants”. Now they are busy with production of the briquetted fuel. The head of Karaidelsky region Ildar Musin reported the output of the local timber industry in 2010 made up 81 million rubles. At the same time the regional budget is formed at the expense of its own incomes only by 28% and the region itself lives on the Republican subsidies.

In opinion of the President RB Rustem Khamitov, who held this meeting, in case the production of the briquetted fuel was organized properly, the incomes of the region would reach one billion rubles annually. For example, the reserves of the log in the Pavlovskoe water reservoir, used for production of the briquetted fuel, reach more than one million tons.

As the director of the company “Selena”, the President of the Trade-Industry Chamber RB Anatoly Bondaruk has stated at the meeting, his company is ready to invest 1,5-2 billion rubles to organization of modern woodworking production in Bashkiria.
