Bashkir trade-unions demand to raise minimal wage rate

The trade-unions of Bashkortostan demand to fix the minimal wage rate at the level of the subsistence wage for able-bodied population on the territory of the Republic.
The press-service of the Trade-Union Federation RB reports the trade-unions offer the Government RB and the unions of employers to sign the corresponding agreement concerning the minimal wage, which would fix the minimal wage rate at the level of the subsistence wage already beginning from January 2011. It is planned this agreement will cover all workers in the region, except the employees, working in the organization, financed from the federal budget. At that the trade-unions consider the rises in wages for work in harmful conditions and other compensational and social payments mustn’t be included into the minimal wage rate.
The letters with the attached project of the agreement are already sent to the Republican leadership, to the Ministry of finances RB, to the Trade-Industry Chamber RB and to the Employers Union RB. It has to be noted that similar agreements, determining the minimal wage rate higher than the average all-Russian one, are already valid in several Russian regions.
