Ildar Akhmetshin: situation in the consumer market is becoming more stable

“At present time the situation with the food prices in the consumer market can be characterized as rather stable” – the chairman of the state trade and consumer’s rights protection committee RB Ildar Akhmetshin said today during the press-conference in the news agency “Bashinform” – “and we expect no problems with deliveries of any foods”.

In July-August the main food prices have substantially jumped up. According to the statistics the cost of the minimal set of foods, including 33 names, has increased by 6,8% for two summer months in Bashkiria, making up 2161 rubles.

In September the situation has become more stable. Trade enterprises managed to fill the market with all necessary foodstuffs and the rise of prices was held up.

The situation in the consumer market is found under close control of the executive power bodies and municipal administrations. The state trade and business committee RB monitors the level of retail food prices on 24 names of socially significant foods daily. The specialists analyze the data and in case of necessity undertake the measures on stabilization of food prices.

The trade enterprises RB don’t stay aside from the solution of this problem. The biggest local trade networks jointly with the Bashkir Trade Association started the action “Social Basket”. Every trade network chooses the most popular foods from the list of social foodstuffs and fixes the minimal extra charge – 3-10%. At present time the action is functioning in all towns and ten municipal districts of Bashkiria and more than 270 big supermarkets are taking part in it.

The Republican producers of foods also make their contribution to the “Social Basket”. Thus, nine bread-baking plants RB decided to freeze the prices for 14 most popular sorts of bread till the end of the year. The producers of milk products promise to hold the prices for 21 names of milk products, including milk, degreased kefir, cottage cheese and sour cream.
