Delegation of JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” arrived in Bashkortostan

The delegation of JSC “ROSENERGOATOM”, headed by its General Director Sergey Obozov, arrived in Ufa. The deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB Uri Pustovgarov and the Minister of industry and innovational policy RB Robert Vagapov were meeting the delegation in the international airport “Ufa”. Same day the representatives of the concern and Ministry of industry and innovational policy RB will leave for the town of Agidel.

The main goal of the arrival is the acquaintance with the objects of the construction base in the town of Agidel and opening of an industrial park there plus consideration of the prospects of further nuclear power-plant construction. Signing of the cooperation agreement between JSC “ROSENERGOATOM”, the Government of Bashkortostan and Agidel administration will become the main event of the visit.

It should be reminded that construction of the Bashkir power plant was stopped in 1990, when the society negatively covered nuclear power engineering because of the tragedy at the Chernobyl atomic station. The unfinished nuclear power station with the industrial base at 600 hectares was standing idle during 20 years. Every year “ROSENERGOATOM” spends huge sums for its conservation while high unemployment and intense situation in the local labor market are observed in the town of Agidel. The halt of the construction negatively affected the prosperity of the whole town of Agidel since the Bashkir nuclear power plant was originally the main town-forming enterprise here. In opinion of the specialists the industrial park “Building Materials of Bashkortostan” is able to breathe new life to this river port.

The meeting of Sergey Obozov with the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov is scheduled tonight in Ufa.
