Potato is going on rising in price in Ufa

Potato is still going on rising in price in the shops and markets of Ufa. For the last week the potato prices have increased approximately by 5%, the Ufa Mayor Paul Kachkaev reported today.
Earlier the Ufa Mayor often insisted that the incompetent journalists, spreading the information that the potato harvest was allegedly too low in the Republic, were mainly guilty of the rise of the potato prices and the potato purveyors used both this false information and the stormy demand, deriving the maximal benefit from this situation.
In reality there are no grounds for the apprehension, Paul Kachkaev said. Though the potato harvest in Bashkortostan is expected lower than usual because of unfavorable climatic conditions, the same harvest is high enough in the nearby regions. Ufa never supplied itself with the potato only due to the internal deliveries, importing about 50% of potato. Nothing will change if we buy not 50 but 70% in 2010 and the prices from the neighboring purveyors will be low enough during the traditional autumn fairs.
As M-r Kachkaev reported, the prices for other foods have increased too: thus, milk and milk products have become by 2,6% more expensive and cabbage – by 2%.
