Harvest forecasts fall down every day

Modern reaper-threshers go on furrowing the sparse fields of the Republic. The harvesters’ bunkers are filled up very slowly this year. The merciless drought, going on in the region for already several months, has done its part. Only one month ago the gross harvest should make one million tons according to the preliminary estimations of the specialists. Now it is clear that this figure won’t become the reality.
For today the thrashing is done on 72% of the Republican fields but the overall milling makes just 660 thousand tons under the average crop capacity 9 centners fr om one hectare. Specialists of the Ministry of agriculture RB predict we practically won’t see the buckwheat harvest this year and it means there will be no seeds for the next sowing. The purchase of the seeds for the spring sowing at the rate of 160 thousand tons is already scheduled today.
One more problem is the shift of the terms of the winter sowing. According to all norms the Republican grain-growers have to start sowing the winter rye in August but it is senseless to throw the seeds into the dry land, so the agrarians started winter sowing only in those regions, wh ere at least some rains were once observed, i.e. in the North-East of the Republic.
Only the winter wheat, which can be sown practically during the whole September, can help our grain-growers.
