Commodity interventions in the grain market are postponed

The Russian Ministry of agriculture decided to postpone the state commodity interventions in the grain market, appointed on August 4. This decision is explained by the aggravation of the situation with the drought. It should be noted the emergency situation because of the drought is announced in 27 Russian regions.
Taking these circumstances into consideration the beginning of the auctions within the frames of the state commodity interventions is put off.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of agriculture RF the grain of the intervention fund will be sold to the organizations, engaged in cattle-breeding and poultry farming, to the processing and flour milling enterprises.
Bashkortostan stands in the list of Russian regions, having suffered from the drought most of all and in this connection the active first deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of agriculture RB Shamil Vahitov ordered the Republican flour milling and processing enterprises to prepare the necessary documentation for participation in the actions.
According to the preliminary calculations of the Bashkir Ministry of agriculture the need of the Republic in the intervention fund’s grain makes about one million tons. More than 3 million tons of fodder grain of the harvest-2005 and harvest-2008 and the food grain of the harvest-2005, kept at the grain elevators in the regions, suffering from the drought and the nearby regions, is subject to be sold out.
