Andre Reus: “We have to stand the competition with the leading engine companies of the world”

“The enterprises in the staff of “OBORONPROM” face the challenge to stand the competition with the leading engine companies of the world. We have to stand in this line and not yield our positions. It is as difficult as it was in 90s last century when we had to move the enterprises of Russian defense-industrial complex from the deep crisis" ” the General Director of JSC “OBORONPROM” Andre Reus stated at the solemn meeting, devoted to the 85th anniversary of JSC “Ufa engine plant” (UMPO) today. In his opinion the plant is quite able to cope with this challenge. He has highly appreciated the production potential the plant possesses and its steps on technical rearmament of the enterprise.

Thus, opening of several promising productions has taken place on the territory of UMPO in the morning. The General Director of JSC “UMPO” Alexander Artukhov has acquainted the quests, arriving to join the jubilee celebrities, with the new productions, introduced at the plant for the last time.

Thus, the launching of the center for manufacturing of turbine rotors, stators and compressors runs in accordance with the concept of UMPO technical development. The first equipment unit started working in the new workshop with the area 3000 square meters in May 2010. The test launching of the X-ray unit in the sector of vacuum machinery has taken place at the end of June.

The acceptance evaluation of the engine 117C is happening on the stand N3 of the assembling workshop now. The engine will be delivered for the customer – the aviation production association in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

As Alexander Artukhov explained, this is already the seventh engine for the fighter SU-35. The engine 117C represents the aviation turbo-jet, two-contour engine with the thrust vectoring nozzle of the generation 4+ and with the tractive force 14,5 tons – two tons more than at the basic engine.
