The reserve “SHULGAN-TASH” wins WWF grant

The state national reserve “SHULGAN-TASH” won the contest of small grants for specially protected natural territories, organized by the WWF program “Reserves and national parks of Russia”. In 2010 the contest is held for the 12th time under the slogan “Cooperation between reserves and business for the good of nature”. Participants of the contest should work up their own programs and find business partners for realization of these projects.

The project of “SHULGAN-TASH” has entered the first five of the contest’s winners and won the corresponding grant. The WWF will allocate 400 thousand rubles and the rest of the sum has to be allocated by the business partners of the reserve. By November the reserve has to make its project a reality – it includes the advancement of the unique wild bee-keeping products in the Russian markets, development of tourist-excursion services and winter rest. Within the frames of the project the specialists will try to distribute the tours evenly during the whole year. Special dispatcher service will be opened for that in June – it will inform the tourist about rafting, horse routes and book the cottages.
