Bashkir subsurface management dept opens new deposits

On the eve of the Geologist Day, celebrated on April 4, the head of the Subsurface Management Dept RB Rasikh Khamitov has taken part in the meeting of the Federal Subsoil Use Agency, where the results of the exploration works in 2009 and the plans for the future were under discussion.

In 2009 the Bashkir Subsurface Management Dept RB has organized the exploration works due to all sources of financing for the sum of more than 869 million rubles, including on 12 federal objects for the sum of more than 118 million rubles. According to M-r Khamitov he summary growth of the forecasted resources of gold in Utchalinsky region RB made 38,4 tons by the category P1 and 118 tons by the category P2. Besides, five new oil deposits were discovered.

“We’ve finished the research works on the semiprecious stones; in particular, on jasper in four regions of Bashkortostan” – M-r Khamitov said – “14 new jasper deposits were discovered”.

At the same time the geological branch faces certain difficulties. For example, only seven of previously planned 17 auctions have taken place in 2009 because of the crisis and too high start-up price. In 2010 the Dept intends to hold more than 30 auctions.

At present time the Subsurface Management Dept RB actively continues exploration works. Several enterprises are busy with the geological explorations for today: the JSC “DIOR” searches for basalt, JSC “Bashkir Geology” – for copper and gold in Utchalinsky and Baimaksky regions RB etc.
