Livestock of meat and mixed bred cattle in Bashkortostan increased by 73 thousand heads

The livestock of meat and mixed bred cattle in Bashkortostan in 2009 has increased by 73 thousand animals. The livestock of meat and mongrel cattle at agricultural enterprises and peasant farmings made about 6 thousand in 2008, including 2,5 thousand cows. In 2009 this number reached 79 thousand, including 21thousand cows. These figures were ventilated at the last Republican meeting on development of meat cattle-breeding, held in Sterlitamac with the participation of the first deputy Prime-Minister of Government RB, Minister of agriculture RB Shamil Vahitov.

This success has become possible thanks to the Republican program on development of meat cattle-breeding in 2009-2012 and within the frames of this program meat cattle breeding is actively developed in 41 regions of Bashkortostan. In 2008 only 15 regions were busy with this direction.

Our Republic is actively taking part in the state program on development of cattle-breeding in municipal districts in 2007-2010 and within its frames the corresponding agreement between Russian Ministry of agriculture and Government RB is signed. All main indices on this program in 2009 are fulfilled. According to information of Ministry of agriculture RB both budgets have allocated 517,7 million rubles for development of meat cattle-breeding in our Republic in 2009.
