Scientific project of JSC “BASHNEFT” has become a laureate of the VI National Ecological Award

The project of oil-slime utilization by JSC “BASHNEFT” has become a laureate of the VI National Ecological Award. This is the award for achievements in sphere of ecology and for contribution to its stable development.

The expert jury under the guidance of the chairman of the sub-committee on the problems of stable development of Russia under the State Duma science and intensive technologies Committee, Academician Michael Zalikhanov and director of the Institute of geo-ecology under the Russian Academy of sciences, Academician Viktor Osipov marked the project by “BASHNEFT”-“The utilization of oil-slimes with the usage of new bio-preparation “Consortium”. The General Director of the company “BASHNEFT-Mining” Nikolai Grahantsev is the head of the project. In all 140 projects in nine nomination have been considered in the course of the contest selection. The “BASHNEFT” project is called the laureate in the nomination “Science for ecology”.

“Our project includes the scientific-practical materials, based on our long-term experience of using the oil-slimes, accumulated by the company” – Nikolai Grahantsev tells – “The project describes the technological processes, applied by us on the polygons for utilization of oil-slimes. Per se this is a serious scientific-practical project, which allows substantially diminishing the negative impact of oil mining on ecology with the help of the preparation “Consortium”, designed by us. This preparation represents the natural association of microorganisms, possessing high biological activity with respect to oil products, thus neutralizing these products. Introduction of the new technologies for utilization of oil-slimes allowed us, in particular, to liquidate several oil-slimes barns, earlier found under exploitation during 40-50 years”.

“Introduction of modern nature-saving technologies is considered one of our priorities” – the President of JSC “BASHNEFT” Viktor Khoroshavtsev says – “The programs, aimed at the minimization of harmful discharges, are worked up at every enterprise of the company and all the time the company strives for reduction of the impact from production activity on the environment”.

The National Ecological Award was established in 2004 by the Fund by Vernadsky and by the Russian State Duma with the assistance of the Russian Federation Council.
