Ten new oil-bearing formations were discovered in Bashkortostan in 2009

Bashkortostan is considered the unique region by the presence of minerals. There are more than 60 kinds of mineral raw materials in the Republic for today and more than three thousand deposits discovered, the head of the nature management department RB Rasikh Hamitov told at today’s news-conference in the news-agency “Bashinform”. In 2009 Bashkir geologists have discovered 10 new oil-bearing formations.
The head of the department said the crisis seriously told on the state of things in the branch. At the height of the crisis the oil prices dropped to 40-50 dollars for one barrel and substantial drop of prices for gold and non-ferrous metals was observed too. All that couldn’t but hamper the activity of the mining companies RB. Now thanks to the favorable internal political and economic situation in our Republic and the anti-crisis steps of the Government the situation in the branch can be called quite stable and favorable conditions for attraction of potential investors are present.
In all 191 oil and gas deposits are found in the Republic now and 161 deposits are found under development. A part of the wells is closed down because of low profitability. For the last years oil workers managed to slow down the rates of oil mining reduction and stabilized oil mining at the level of 11 million tons annually. Certain growth is indicated now. Thus, 11,4 million tons of oil have been mined in 2009, 10,9 million tons-in 2008. The main share of oil mining falls on JSC “BASHNEFT” – 11,2 million tons. It is planned to mine 12,7 millions tons of oil in 2010. One of the main aims in 2010 is supply of new enterprises RB – such as “LASSELBERGER” and “RUSJAM” – with enough volumes of mineral, so Bashkir specialists intends to widen development of copper ores and will search for new deposits.
