“UMPO” jointly with “NPO Saturn” continues working over the engines for the aircrafts of the fifth generation

JSC “UMPO” continues working over the engine for the fighters of the fifth generation.

The first test flight of the so-called “Perspective Front-Line Aviation Complex” (PAK FA), fulfilled on January 29, 2010, has become one more successful stage in realization of the joint project of JSC “UMPO” and JSC “NPO SATURN” on designing of the engine for the fighter of the fifth generation, the news-service of JSC “UMPO” reported.

The model “PAK FA” is equipped with two aviation vector-thrust engines “117”, providing the fighter with super-mobility. Low visibility and the possibility of prolonged supersonic flight also belong to the unique peculiarities of the aircraft.

“The work over the engine for the Perspective Front-Line Aviation Complex is going on” – the General Director of JSC “UMPO” Alexander Artukhov says – “I am quite sure that the available human potential, already introduced innovational technologies and high-tech equipment plus stable business relations with our partners will help us to manage this aim in time”.
