German experts help to make power-engineering cluster in Bashkortostan

Clusters and cluster approach – this is one of the most efficient forms of organization of work for several enterprises. As a rule clusters are built up by the territorial principle with the usage of industrial and scientific-potential, available on this territory. Other words, the cluster represents a sort of roof under which the representatives of this or that branch and adjoining branches gather to create something important, useful and competitive.
The workgroup on establishment of the power-engineering and machine-building cluster with participation of the experts from Germany has held its meeting in Ufa.
Olga Novoselova, Professor of the Institute of social-economic investigations RB cited the data about state of the power-engineering branch in Russia. The situation is that many electric stations in the country have become a thing of the past and the available equipment and technologies don’t allow lowering the production power intensity. According to Olga Novoselova the power intensity of Russian GDP is 2,2 times higher than in the USA and 3 times higher than in Germany. At present time the process of power-engineering decentralization is indicated in Russia and it will demand many micro-turbines, which aren’t yet produced in the country, so the production of such turbines in Bashkortostan would become quite profitable and “Hydraulics”, JSC “UMPO” and some other Bashkir enterprises can be involved in this production under technical assistance of our leading technical universities – USATU and USOTU plus our branch institutes.
The Director of “BAHTECHINFORM” Vyacheslaw Kruzkov believes the power-engineering cluster can be built up around the most promising product – the micro-turbine and Ufa plant “Hydraulics” can play the main role here, since it is experienced enough in production of small gas-turbine engines and units. This enterprise can become the basic one and other partners of the project will help to make this idea a reality, uniting under one roof.
Three clusters will be established in Bashkortostan in parallel: the power-engineering cluster, the woodworking cluster and the tourist one. The Republican budget appropriated 34 million rubles for that plus the means of the Venture Fund RB and the resources, allocated to the institutes for R&D.
This project is realized jointly by Ministry of industry and external economic relations RB and Ministry of economics and technologies of Germany and German experts Kurt Hornshield and Carl-Heinz Clinger are the main experts on the project “Elaboration and realization of Bashkortostan’s industrial policy restructuring”.
