The Center of nanotechnologies is planned to be based at Ufa State Aviation Technical University

The centers of nanotechnologies will be developed in Russia and one of such centers is planned to start working in Ufa. Four billion rubles will be allocated from the federal exchequer for establishment of such “nano-network” in the country.

The state corporations “ROSNANO” and “ROSATOM” and several other enterprises will take part in establishment of the network of the centers of nano-coatings all over the country because the usage of the newest technologies allows substantially prolonging the life time of engines, hulls and machines, metal constructions etc. For example, the laying of nano-coatings is able to prolong the life time of gas-turbine engines, thus raising the coefficient of their efficiency.

The project presumes designing of new methods of laying the nano-coatings and the matter is the high-speed gas-thermal sputtering and ion-plasmic dispersion. These technologies are considered one of the most promising and demanded in the world. They have to replace the obsolete and ecologically harmful technologies, for example, the galvanic ones.

The nano-centers already work in Perm and Tyumen and it is planned that similar centers will be opened in Saint-Petersburg, Surgut, Kursk and Ufa.

The scientific and innovational activity pro-rector of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University, Professor Rustam Badamshin reports the project of the nano-center in Ufa is found in the process of elaboration and most likely it will be based at the USATU.

It should be noted that “The techno-park of aviation technologies” – the joint project of Ufa State Aviation Technical University and JSC “Ufa engine plant” (UMPO) works in Ufa since 2007 and nanotechnologies are already applied in production of aviation engines of the fifth generation.
