Bashkir power engineering specialists will supply the largest in Russia electric furnace with electricity

Bashkir power engineering specialists will supply the ASHINSKY metallurgical plant in Chelyabinsk region with electric energy. Construction of the high-voltage power line VL-220KW “UFIMSKAYA-AMET” has become one of the most important projects for the Republican energy system in 2009.

At present time the sub-station “AMET” is erected near the enterprise and it will supply the future electric furnace with energy. Two “ABB” transformers are already mounted on the foundations. Construction of the sub-station should be completed by next summer.

The news-service of JSC “BASHKIRENERGO” reports the need in additional electric capacities in the neighboring region arouse due to full modernization of the steelmaking. Construction of the largest in Russia electric furnace will be completed soon at the ASHINSKY metallurgical plant. Its capacity is one million tons of liquid steel per year and energy consumption will increase five times.

The construction of the high-voltage line was under close control of the leaderships of Bashkortostan and Chelyabinsk region. In spite of economic difficulties the parties managed to find the necessary sums – construction of the object will be finished in time.
