Livestock of cattle in the Republic is found at the last year level

2,086 million tons of milk was produced in Bashkortostan for ten months 2009. According to information of Ministry of agriculture RB the livestock of cattle in the Republic is kept at the last year level. Thus, there are one million 773,2 thousand heads of cattle in Bashkortostan (0,1% more than in 2008), 568,4 thousand heads of pigs (1,3% more), 940,4 thousand heads of sheep and goats (1,1% more) and 163,5 thousand horses (0,9% more). The number of poultry remained at the same level – about 17 million.

For the rise of milk and meat production and for the increase of cattle productivity the branch goal-oriented programs for development of milk and meat cattle-breeding were approved in Bashkortostan. The budgets of different levels appropriate 1,38 billion rubles for realization of these programs in 2009. At the beginning of December 570 million federal means and 307 million Republican means has been mastered. In order to receive these means it was necessary to fulfill several requirements, in particular, to provide at least 7%-growth of milk production as compared with the level of 2008 and to increase the volumes of meat production by at least 2,9%.
