Federal Anti-Monopoly Service intends to investigate the access of small business to government business

The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service intends to start the all-Russian check-up of the conditions of small business access to government business. According to estimations of Russian experts the share of small business in various departmental orders doesn’t exceed 2% at present time and Russian Government demands to make this share about 20%. The beginning of the check-up is scheduled on January 1, 2010. From the beginning of the next year the legislative norms order the departments to allocate 10-20% of the government business to small business companies. The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service government business placement control department Michael Evraev says the anti-monopoly service still doesn’t possess the exact statistics on observation of this norm because its attention is turned first of all to the non-transparent sector of the natural state monopolies. The experts say in the regions the share of small business participation in government business is observed at the level of 10% and same situation can be traced in electronic (online) auctions.
