UMPO will produce engines for fighters SU-35C of Russian Air Forces

JSC “Ufa engine plant” (UMPO) signed the contract with the JSC “Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation production enterprise” for deliveries of the engines AL-41F-1C (117C) for the newest multifunctional fighters SU-35C of Russian Air Forces. Till 2015 “UMPO” has to produce 96 engines and the first consignment has to be shipped off in 2010.
For the first time the vectored-thrust engines will be delivered for SU-35C in the staff of Russian Air Forces. Before that the vectorable nozzles were installed only on the engines, meant for export, the news-service of JSC “UMPO” reports.
The aviation engine 117C is the aviation turbo-jet two-contour vectored-thrust engine of the generation 4++. It is designed jointly by JSC “UMPO” and the scientific-production enterprise “Saturn” by the order of JSC “SUKHOY” and represents the deep modernization of the engine AL-31F as a result of which its thrust exceeds the parameters of the basic engine two tons.
JSC “UMPO” is the largest manufacturer of aviation engines in Russia. The annual production volume makes up about 15 billion rubles.
