Bashkortostan takes the first place by issue of book production among national publishing houses

The Russian Book Chamber summed up the results of the state statistical analysis on issue of books and brochures by Russian editors for the first six months 2009.

In accordance with this data the number of books and brochures, published in Bashkir language among the book publications, issued in national languages, makes up 111 titles and the overall circulation – 379,8 thousand copies and this is much more than the number of books, published in Tatar, Chuvash and Udmurt languages.

Republic of Bashkortostan is found in the list of Russian regions – the leaders in book publishing – together with Tatarstan, Volgograd, Samara, Sverdlovsk and some other Russian regions.

The book publishing industry is the only branch of the national economy, which demonstrates positive changes even under the terms of the global crisis.

Besides, the leading publishing house of Bashkortostan – the Bashkir publishing house “KITAP” by Zainab Biisheva is going to celebrate the 90th anniversary tomorrow.
