Demand in railway transportations begins growing

The number of passengers on Kuibyshev railroad increased by16% in May, as compared with April 2009. In May trains on Kuibyshev railroad transported about 530 thousand passengers – 16% more than one month before, news-service of Kuibyshev railroad reports. The majority of passengers traditionally prefer Moscow direction.

Despite the crisis phenomena the demand in railway transportations steadily grows up in the period of summer vacations and holidays, thus nearly reaching the indices of the last year.

In June the regional directorate of Kuibyshev railroad intends to transport more than 655 thousand passengers. In a whole within the period between January and May more than two million people have been transported – by 15% lower than for the same period of time in 2008 but 1% more than the planned performance for this year and this is the encouraging fact.
