Small business in Bashkortostan is developed best of all in Volga federal district

The National Institute of business undertakings problems systematic research (Moscow) introduced the list of Russian regions by the level of small business undertakings development in 2008. The first place in the list belongs to Novosibirsk region. Volgograd and Tomsk regions also lead and Yaroslavl and Saint-Petersburg go behind. Republic of Ingushetia has the lowest indices on small business development and situation in Yamal-Nenets autonomous district, Chechen Republic, Kalmykia and Transbaikalia is slightly better. In the list of federal districts the Southern and the North-Western federal districts have the best indices and the most unfavorable situation is observed in the Far-Eastern federal district. Bashkortostan leads in Volga federal district (the 11th-12th places in Russia in a whole), Samara and Penza regions hold the second and the third positions (the 13th-14th places in Russia). Tatarstan holds the fourth place, Kirov region – the fifth, Udmurt Republic – the sixth, Perm region – the seventh, Nizhniy Novgorod region – the eighth, Ulyanovsk region – the ninth, Mordvinia and Chuvashia share the tenth and eleventh positions. Republic of Mari Al stands on the 12th place and Saratov region - on the thirteenth. Orenburg region closes the list on the fourteenth place.
