A new music video by the Bashkir band Ay Yola has been published online, featuring the musicians singing in Russian. Adele and Ruslan Shaikhitdinov, along with Rinat Ramazanov, shared the story behind their cover of the legendary song "Black Moon" by Agata Kristi for the film "August."
"Ruslan literally put together the arrangement on the fly, and we recorded at night in the studio of the Novosibirsk Conservatory—between concerts, with almost no sleep, but with total dedication. We added a touch of the Bashkir soul to the song: kurai, kubyz, dombra, Rinat's throat singing, and Adele's voice, which captured the atmosphere felt in the film "August." "This is how our version came about—recognizable, but with the character of AY YOLA, filled with the energy of our Bashkir culture," the band's musicians shared on their official social media.
Among the arrangers, in addition to Ruslan Shaikhitdinov, is Dmitry Yemelyanov.
