On August 23, Russia will host the 10th anniversary of the all-Russian event "Cinema Night". The event is organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the operators of the event are Roskino and the Cinema Fund, and the co-organizer of the event is the Russian Culture Fund. The event will traditionally be timed to coincide with Russian Cinema Day, which is celebrated on August 27.
The program of "Cinema Night 2025" will include the war drama in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – "Blood Type" (2025, directed by Maxim Brius), the family fantasy "The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Yellow Brick Road (2024, directed by Igor Voloshin) and the musical biopic The Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin (2024, directed by Felix Umarov).
According to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, the anniversary event "Cinema Night 2025" is another reason to show our excellent films to Russian and foreign viewers, to celebrate the holiday of Russian cinema worthily, and to remind them of the importance of cinema. Over the past 10 years, "Cinema Night" has significantly expanded its geography: since 2023, the historical territories of Russia, Donbass, and Novorossiya have joined the event, and in 2024, the event reached the international level for the first time: screenings took place in 14 BRICS and CIS countries.
