The benefit will now equal 100% of the regional subsistence minimum.
The State Duma has increased the pregnancy benefit for full-time female students to 100% of the regional subsistence minimum. The payment is granted regardless of whether the student receives a scholarship, as stated in the explanatory note.
Currently, the benefit is paid in the amount of the student’s scholarship for 140 days of “sick leave,” which on average ranges from 9,000 to 23,000 rubles across the country.
In Bashkortostan, the subsistence minimum for the working-age population in 2025 is set at 17,202 rubles. Therefore, the total payment for the 140-day leave in the republic should amount to approximately 80,000 rubles.
