On June 8, a copy of the book Ural-Batyr will be added to the collection of the Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations. This was announced by Amina Shafikova, Minister of Culture of Bashkortostan, during an operational meeting at the regional government. The date was chosen for a reason: the Head of the Republic established Ural-Batyr Epic Day, which will now be celebrated annually on June 8.
Summing up the results of the Kitap-Bairam book fair, the minister also noted that at the opening ceremony, the Head of the Republic handed over a facsimile copy of the Ural-Batyr epic to the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan for safekeeping.
The book is a reprint of the text compiled by educator Mukhametsha Burangulov, who was the first to record the epic in 1910 from the words of sesens-kuray players Gabit Argynbaev and Khamit Almakhametov.
Earlier, Bashinform published an extensive report from the book festival.
